Volunteering

Volunteers are the essence of our organization.

Our success rests with the people who help to run the program. There are many areas where you can assist.

Curriculum Committee:

Its members are always on the lookout for new ideas and presenters to keep the program fresh and interesting. This group meets three times per semester to organize and write the program.

Workshop Presenters:

If you have a special skill, knowledge or expertise that you would like to share with Encore members, please contact us – we are always on the lookout for new and varied presenters. If you have ideas and/or requests for workshops & courses let us know – we’ll try to find the people needed to make that course a reality.

Support Workers:

These important people ensure that workshops run smoothly. They contact participants, introduce and thank the presenter as well as setting up the coffee and cookies (provided by Encore) for breaktime. While some support workers choose to pay for the course they host, Encore policy states that the support workers are not required to pay (except for membership and supply fee).
